DTC Troubleshooting: P0121 (7), P0221 (7)
DTC P0121: | TP Sensor A Range/Performance Problem |

1. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
|
2. | Do the DTC CLEAR in the CLEAR MENU with the HDS.
|
3. | Do the ETCS TEST in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS.
|
4. | Open the throttle to full position several times.
|
5. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Is DTC P0121 and/or P0221 indicated?
YES - Go to Connect the ECM test harness and the test pin box to the wire harness only, not to the ECM. |
9. | Check for continuity between test pin box terminals No. 65 and No. 78.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to Do the ETCS learn procedure.

17. | Do the ETCS TEST in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS.
|
18. | Open the throttle to full position several times.
|
19. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
YES - If DTC P0121 and/or P0221 indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle body and the ECM, then go to Substitute a known-good ECM.

21. | Do the ETCS TEST in the INSPECTION MENU with the HDS.
|
22. | Open the throttle to full position several times.
|
23. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
YES - If DTC P0121 and/or P0221 indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle body and the ECM, then go to Replace the original ECM. |
