Ignition Coil Troubleshooting - Except L15A1
Except L15A1 Engine
3. | Remove the PGM-FI main relay 2. |
4. | Start the engine and let it run until it stalls. |
5. | Install the spark plugs on the ignition coils. |
6. | Connect the ignition coil connector, and connect the spark plug on the ground. |
7. | With the shift lever in P or N (CVT), turn the ignition switch to start (III), and check the spark. Does the plug spark? YES - Ignition coil is OK.n NO - Go to 7. |
8. | Substitute a known-good ignition coil, and recheck the spark. Does the plug spark? YES - Replace the original ignition coil.n NO - If the front spark plug does not spark, Check for a blown No. 24 (15 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box. If the fuse is OK, repair open in the wire between the under-dash fuse/relay box and front ignition coil. If the rear spark plug does not spark, Check for a blown No. 2 (15 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box. If the fuse is OK, repair open in the wire between the under-dash fuse/relay box and rear ignition coil.n |
