Imoes Unit Input Test

Remove the center panel.

2.Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the imoes unit (B).

3.Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.

If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
If the terminals look OK, make the following input tests at the connector.
  • If a test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
  • If all the input tests prove OK, the Imoes unit must be faulty; replace it.

  • Blown No. 3 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box

  • Blown No. 8 (15 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • An open in the wire
1BRN/YELUnder all conditionCheck for continuity to ground: There should be continuity.
  • Poor ground (G101)
  • Faulty ECM/PCM or disconnect ECM/PCM connector
  • An open in the wire
2RED/BLUIgnition switch ON (II)Check for continuity to ground: There should be battery voltage.
  • Faulty immobilizer control unit-receiver

  • Faulty ECM/PCM
  • An open in the wire
4BLU/REDIgnition key removed from the ignition switchCheck for continuity to ground: There should be continuity. There should be battery voltage.
  • Faulty gauge assembly
  • An open in the wire
