Rear Damper Replacement
Exploded view
Remove the rear wheels.
3. | Place a floor jack under of the rear axle beam, and support the rear suspension by raising the jack.

4. | Remove the flange bolt (A) from the bottom of the damper.
|
5. | Remove the lid on the trunk side trim.
|
6. | Hold the damper shaft (A) with a hex wrench (B), and loosen the 10 mm flange nut.
|
7. | Remove the 10 mm flange nut, damper mounting washer (C) and damper mounting rubber (D) from the top of the damper.
|
8. | Compress the damper unit, and remove it from the body.
|
Installation
1. | Install the bump stop rubber (A) onto the damper unit. Position the damper assembly between the body and rear axle beam.

2. | Place a floor jack under of the rear axle beam, and support the rear suspension by raising the jack.
|
3. | Install the damper mounting rubber (A) and damper mounting washer (B) on the damper shaft, and lightly install the 10 mm flange nut. Note the washer and rubber installation direction.
|
4. | Loosely install the flange bolt on the bottom of the damper.
|
5. | Raise the suspension with a floor jack to load the vehicle weight, and tighten the flange bolt.
|
6. | Tighten the 10 mm flange nut to the specified torque values while holding the damper shaft (A) with a hex wrench (B).
|
7. | Reinstall the lid on the trunk side trim.
|
8. | Install the rear wheels.
