Steering Wheel Installation

With SRS


1.Before installing the steering wheel, make sure the front wheels are aligned straight ahead, then center the cable reel (A). Do this by first rotating the cable reel clockwise until it stops. Then rotate it counterclockwise about two and a half turns. The arrow mark (B) on the cable reel label point should point straight up.

2.Position the two tabs (A) of the turn signal cancelling sleeve (B) as shown, and install the steering wheel on to the steering column shaft, making sure the steering wheel hub (C) engages the pins (D) of the cable reel and tabs of the canceling sleeve. Do not tap on the steering wheel or steering column shaft when installing the steering wheel.

3.Install the steering wheel bolt (manufactored in HATC: nut) (A) and tighten it.Make sure the horn wire harness (B) is routed and fastened properly.

4.Connect the steering shift switch connector (A) (if equipped).

Install the driver's airbag, and confirm that the system is operating properly.

6.Check the horn and turn signal cancelling for proper operation.

Without SRS


1.Before installing the steering wheel, make sure the front wheels are aligned straight ahead to center the steering wheel column shaft.

2.Position the two tabs (A) of the horn cancel cam (B) straight up and down.

3.Install the steering wheel on the steering column shaft, making sure the steering wheel hub (A) engages tabs (B) of the horn cancel cam (C). Do not tap on the steering wheel or steering column shaft when installing the steering wheel.

4.Install the steering wheel nut (A) and tighten it.

5.Place the horn pad (B), and secure it with new Torx bolts (C).

6.Connect the battery negative cable.

7.Check the horn and turn signal cancelling for proper operation.
